🕒 Walmart to Launch Night Shift Social Compliance Audits
According to insider reports from CSR Audit investigator, Walmart will begin conducting dedicated social responsibility audits for overnight shift operations starting November 11, 2025. These audits will be carried out by third-party firms and will specifically target factories with nighttime production schedules.
Why Night Shift Audits Matter
Industries such as injection molding, knitwear manufacturing, and electronics (e.g., SMT surface-mount technology) often operate on two or three shifts per day. For example, a knitwear factory’s night shift might run from 8 PM to 8 AM. Walmart’s new policy requires audits to cover these hours, ensuring that labor conditions during night shifts meet social responsibility standards.
What Will Be Audited
Night shift audits will include:
- On-site inspections of production areas
- Worker interviews
- Reviews of support departments like cleaning and cafeteria services
(Note: Security and maintenance departments are excluded)
⚠️ Compliance Expectations
Factories scheduled for audits before November 1 must still be prepared to accommodate auditors during any shift. Walmart reserves the right to penalize factories that refuse night shift audits. If auditors are denied access or cannot submit reports due to non-cooperation, affected factories may face order suspensions.
Definition of “Night Shift”
Walmart defines night shift as any work occurring between 5 PM and 8 AM the following day. If your factory operates within this window, it must undergo the night shift audit.
This policy has now been confirmed: Walmart has notified suppliers, and audit agencies are aligned.
